It’s been a bit of a “mixed bag” of photography for the last couple of months. “Variety is the spice of life” as they say, and that is how I like it, different challenges and experiences is what makes this job so fascinating.
I finally rounded off my work for Paul and Nicola’s wedding that was held back in July. Wedding photography commissions do take a while to complete: deciding on the final collection of images for the album or book takes time and careful consideration, collating the needs of other family members is not always a quick process, and it’s never easy to decide which are the images you want framed for the wall or desk. Never mind though, these things take time, there is absolutely no rush. The main thing is that by the end of they had everything they wanted, exactly as they wanted it. Happy customers … that is what it’s all about.

I have completed a number of Commercial Photography jobs, varying from quick and simple coverage of PR events to much longer term commissions producing a large body of work in each case.
The co-operative were re-launching one of their Wellingborough stores after a refit and rebranding. They were presenting a local school with a Fair Trade hamper and asked them to officially open the store. Their PR department had tasked me to capture some publicity photographs for use in the local press and in their own corporate publications. They were particularly proud of the new look store and the new facilities for customers including the self-service tills, so it was important to capture all of this.
An ongoing project was my work with Northampton Shooting Ground. Images were required for marketing and web use, so repeat visits were made to start building a collection of images that would sum up the facilities and the activities that are available there.
And of course my continued involvement with Lincoln Noel – Piano Maestro and founder of the Lincoln Noel Jazz Trio. I have been following the band around for a few months now, and Lincoln himself on some of his solo performances. Capturing the essence of a true master at work, under what are more often than not, very demanding conditions has proved to be a challenging yet very rewarding task. Watch out for a more in depth post about this ….
