Grosvenor Centre, Northampton

Commencing in October 2014, this is the start of an ongoing project with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), who own and operate the Grosvenor Centre, a shopping mall in the centre of Northampton.

The Centre has just seen the start of a complete internal refurbishment project that is due for completion at the end of 2014, with the outside being completed the early part of 2015. This is a large, significant project for JLL after taking over the marketing for the Centre, and they wanted high quality images to document the works as they progress and the various new store openings that were coming.

The first part of the assignment was to capture the Centre as it is now. I spent a couple of hours on a quiet morning, concentrating on wide angle, high quality and impactful images. The works had already begun, and this could not be hidden, but these are the “before” pictures, the most important images will be those taken after the refurbishment is complete.

The next, intermediate, part of the project involves the opening of key new stores in the Centre – OPEN ( a new menswear shop from the JD Sports company), Next was ….. next and later in the year Primark will be one of the last, long awaited openings. Visits are required of me to capture the opening of these new stores, each of them holding events to celebrate the new stores.

JLL will be using the images in various press releases of their own, although there will be inevitable press presence at the key moments in the project.
